Alcatraz Jail was originally an army fort and prison but later in 1934 converted into a jail. The jail was near impossible to escape and conditions in the jail were shocking.
Al Capone was one of Alcatraz Jail most well known prisoners. Prisoners killed each other, committed suicide, went insane, mutilated themselves or died of sickness.
The gaurds constantly beat the prisoners and the screams were heard throughout Alcatraz Jail. Prisoners for the most part were not allowed to talk so the only real sounds heard in Alcatraz Jail were those of violence.
Since Alcatraz Jail was closed both gaurds and tour guides have reported hearing sounds of mens voices, screams, running feet in the corridors, whistles and clanging metal doors. Terrifying screams have been heard from the dungeon.
Some people feel very strange feelings near 14-D. The area feels cold even on a hot day.
The sound of banjo music comes from the shower room where Capone once held forth. Most people believe the ghosts of those who died in Alcatraz Jail believe they are still locked in the jail.
